SHARING OF TALENTS, GIFTS AND KNOWLEDGE SUCCESS

Last month, Vision Team sponsored our semi-annual “Sharing of Talents, Gifts, and Knowledge” event. As the Vision co-chair with Rev. Doner, I would like to acknowledge that the event was very well received, and considered that it was indeed, a success. Many thanks to the Vision Team members for providing goodies to eat, and to the Fellowship Team for providing the tea, coffee,and juice, as well as their services setting up the “food court” and doing cleanup after the event.

Special note that Avela Robitaille was certainly well initiated into the Fellowship Team. It was her first time serving in the church kitchen, and she passed with grace and hard work!

A special HUGE note of appreciation to Klaas Koiter (assisted by Brad) for his extensive time and knowledge setting up the audio visual equipment, checking and re-checking equipment placement, and recording the event for youtube, so that those unable to attend could get a sense of the joy and camaraderie during this event.

A special note of appreciation to all our presenters who bravely approached the microphone.

Michael Pupeza, speaking of his love of astronomy;

Rachel Doner addressing the need of awareness within the church for all children’s learning needs;

Lincoln Dalzell and Dee Palazzo for performing Lincoln’s skit about avoiding bedtime;

Ross Compton for putting together, and performing a wonderfully, entertaining “bible rap”;

Gord Clark gave a loving salute to curling – and provided some books on curling (see library shelves) as well as taking questions from the audience.

Cathy Clark reminded us all to find our calming and enjoyable gifts as she described her love of art and music;

Lisa Huvers (assisted by Eleanor and Rosie) told us the story of guiding… locally and internationally.

This was particularly fitting on the celebrated birthday of Lord Baden-Powell. Lots of wonderful information;

And Rev. Barry Doner, as his alter ego Slappy Hooper, kept us in stitches with his “stand-up” (in this case, sitting down) one man 5 minute show. Hilarious!

I would be remiss if I did not offer our sincerest appreciation to Jean Hall for taking pictures during the

event, and for our enthusiastic Mistress of Ceremonies, Dee Palazzo who also took pictures of the event, and introduced all our participants.

To everyone who attended, thank you for your listening ears, your generous applause, and your supportive enthusiasm. Next installment … October, 2026?
